Our Favorite Meditation Apps To Listen To Before Bed

We’ve all had that moment - staring at the ceiling, waiting for our minds to drift off to sleep. Factors like stress, anxiety or even insomnia can make it difficult to unwind and fall asleep.

If you find it hard to fall asleep or struggle with insomnia, sleep meditation apps may be your answer. Different apps have unique features, ranging from libraries of soothing sounds and music to built-in timers and reminders. To help you find the right fit, most sleep meditation apps offer free trials so you can find the one that is right for you.

Here are some of our favorite sleep meditation apps to help you drift off to sleep with ease.

Headspace
This app focuses on exercises that teach mindfulness and meditation. For beginners, Headspace offers basic courses that introduce you to mindfulness.

With guided meditations, relaxing sounds, and exercises, this app offers a 7-day free trial and even provides some free content if you are not ready to commit to a subscription plan.

Calm

One feature that it’s known for is the sleep stories library. With over 100 bedtime stories for adults, Calm helps users unwind and fall asleep.

Once the free 7-day trial expires, users can subscribe with a one-off annual subscription fee. This gives access to the app’s full content. Unfortunately, there is no free version of this sleep mediation app.

Pzizz
This particular app has three themes: sleep, nap, and focus. In a feature they call “Dreamscapes,”, the app uses sound playlists, spoken segments, and music. These playlists are tailored specifically to help you get to sleep and are updated every night.

What makes this app different is the nap setting that includes spoken instructions and music. Pzizz also offers a focus setting that contains sounds aimed to boost productivity and concentration.

Offered in two versions - pro (paid subscription plan) and free - Pzizz is a good option if you are looking for a free subscription.
